Christopher “C-Ray” Rayson is a Dallas-based visual artist who has been creating art with passion and purpose since the 1990s. Known for his distinctive style of black-and-white acrylic paintings accented with vibrant touches of color, Christopher’s work reflects a deep love for his craft that began at the age of six in his hometown of Dallas, Texas.
Throughout his journey to becoming a professional visual artist, Christopher has explored various fields, both directly and indirectly related to the arts, constantly refining his technique. His work can be found in private homes, nightclubs, high schools, corporate offices, and barbershops—each piece capturing a unique story. His large portraits of public figures and social subjects are influenced by his life experiences and family values. Every painting is crafted to evoke emotion and connect with viewers on a deeper level. As Christopher puts it, “Some artists want to make millions off their art; I’d rather touch millions of people with my art and help them heal.” His style, often described as Casual Realism, reflects this philosophy.
After graduating from Lancaster High School in 1995, Christopher received a scholarship to the Art Institute of Dallas, which paved the way for his artistic career. He has showcased his work in numerous art shows through RAW Artists of Dallas, an organization that enabled him to collaborate with top club promoters and businesses across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. These partnerships have led to opportunities to create art for various celebrities, civil rights leaders, and athletes. Christopher's goal is to use his many gifts to make a positive impact on communities worldwide.
